What can I say. LUSH has been my absolute saviour, a god-send, a gift from mother nature, in these past few months!
A few years ago I used to turn my nose up (well, pinch it tight) every time I walked past a Lush shop. The fragrance that surrounds the place is so potent that I thought it must from copious amounts of chemicals (the look of their neon sparkly bath bombs added to the conclusion).
But in recent times I've learnt that it's quite the opposite. As one of the most environmentally conscious stores on the high street, they use almost all totally natural and healthy ingredients, including nut butters and essential oils. **
The best thing about them is that they have a huge range of packaging-free options for people like me! So I've been going a bit Lush-crazy lately, and very tempted to make a stop-over on my way home from work at least once a week. I know, bit weird.
Anyway, here are some really super things I've bought recently:
Man I just lurve that place.
Luckily I'll have another excuse to pop in when my shampoo and facial moisturiser run out. I will soon be adding a shampoo bar and a 'Full of Grace' face moisturising bar to the ever-growing list!
** This depends how natural you strive to be. I am talking from the perspective of someone who previously used an aluminium antiperspirant and would shop at Boots without reading any of the ingredients. It has come to my attention recently that Lush do use some ingredients that could be considered as 'nasties' such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Lush claim that these are harmless but I'll let you make up your own mind on that.
Having said that, some of their products actually are pretty natural. You may just want to check the ingredients, which they are very transparent about on their website.
